On the bank of the Hlohovec Pond, a so-called Border Chateau was built between 1826 and 1827. The border between Moravia and Austria originally passed through it.

The chateau was built by J. Poppelack in Classicist style. Three gazebos are located on the long, terrace-covered ground floor of the building. Above the main profiled cornice is the low attic of the inscription "Zwischen Österreich und Mähren".

Today, the mansion is in private hands and lives a rather busy life as it once was. You will often meet a carriage with beautifully dressed wedding couples here, members of our government and important foreign guests come here.

The Border Chateau complex serves as a resting place for many Czech and foreign tourists, or as a place for training, corporate seminars, birthday parties, graduations, anniversaries and wedding receptions, or just a place to eat and drink.

The restaurant in historical and modern style offers you quality Czech and foreign cuisine with the possibility to taste a number of wines from the Valtice Wine Cellars. The restaurant is right in the historic frontier building.
