Baroque chateau, located close to the center of Mikulov in the district of Břeclav. It stands on a rocky hill called Castle Hill and forms one of the dominants of the city.
Dominant of Mikulov, towering on an unforgettable cliff, dates from the beginning of the 13th century, later it was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau and after a fire in 1719 it was modified in Baroque style. The most interesting parts of the castle include the extensive wine cellars, the chateau library and the ancestral hall. Nowadays the Regional Museum of Mikulov houses a rich chateau exhibition.
